Structural Repair & Masonry Reinforcement

We are approved with a number of proprietary system manufacturers including Helifix, Thorhelical and Cintec and have a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of structural repair.
We are able to utilise the benefits of stainless steel reinforcing bar, which possess substantial tensile properties and apply it correctly to strengthen and stabilize masonry in building and structures including bridge and civil sectors.
Issues of superstructure displacement and lateral instability can be addressed through a combined and sympathetic approach adopting lateral restraint ties, cemties, Helifix Sock Anchors or Cintec Anchors which are installed and secured in position through a grout filled encasing sock.
Large areas of masonry can be secured and reinforced through the formation of masonry beams that help to tie together vulnerable areas and distribute structural loads across weak zones, creating a bridging effect.
Building subsidence and settlement can be combatted at substructure level through the introduction of micro piles, used to transfer the combined dead and imposed loads of a structure down to firm ground strata, mitigating further distress and displacement to the building. We utilise a variety of helical pile options to achieve this including the McLean Dixie system by Helifix and can assist in the design process through to installation and testing.
Retaining wall and slope stabilisation systems help to reinforce structures and combat overturning moments from load generated behind a retaining element and prevent ground slippage at slopes beyond the angle of repose. We are fully conversant and experienced with a variety of propriety systems including Platipus Anchors and can help prepare and install a fully geotechnically approved solution to a range of problems.
Other ancillary stabilisation techniques we specialise in include gravity and pumped grouting to consolidate and fill voids in for instance traditional stone structures, resin injection to chemically bond and bridge across cracks and carbon fibre strengthening etc which are adopted as a post treatment solution to improve strength in a structural entity.
